Deborah did have a calling from God to be a judge in the Book of Judges. However, Joshua had a calling to kill all of the men, women, and children, who were not from the tribes of Israel. Joshua, like Deborah, had a calling from God. Even though God called Joshua to kill, the Christian church should not use the Book of Joshua to justify killing more than 200,000 innocent lives in Japan by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II, because Jesus said that we should love our enemies, not kill them. Thus, feminists should not use the book of Judges to justify their agenda by letting sisters preach in the church, according to 1 Timothy 2:12-14.
